It has come to my attention that I have been impersonated on Sammy Boy's Alfresco Coffeeshop Forums. An account going by the moniker of 'Perry_Tong' was created on Saturday 14th October 2006 while I was away in Tioman teaching scuba diving. Several posts have been made 'in my name.'
It appears that an email address I use has been compromised. The password has since been changed.
Apologies to all affected by the mis-representation.
A police report has been made (J200610172055) and Delphi forums are currently assisting with the investigations.

There is nothing wrong with an impersonation.
It is done a lot both in countries where media is and is not controlled.
Politicians, if matured, all find it quite acceptable. Even if some may not like how they are portrayed.
Most would have to put up with their impersonation - most impersonations are not flattering.
For 'Perry Tong's' case I think he's being like an oversensitive clitoris reacting too readily to what is more than likely a silly joke. Some people went into discussions of 'identity theft' and all that I think it is quite unnecessary - until that oversensitive clitoris made a 'police report' most wouldn't have bated an eyelid.
Going by his general drivel Perry shows every sign he wants to use the opportuniSty to give himself a free exposure for nothing. 'No publicity is bad publicity' so it's said and only the lowest of the low would make a big vomit out of the whore joke and prostitute his self in aid of a non-existent reputation.
The whore thing is not helped by Perry having the insane delusion that he is a 'recognised public figure'. 'Yes', but so what?
Even before most of us detractors of the 'wisdom' from crap parties/'politicians' are caught out hung and quartered, Perry's already done all the necessary work of plastering shit all over himself - I mean, even before he becomes a recognised political figure (I still don't know whodaphcuk he is) he has resorted to the very unpopular heavy handedness of Stalinist regimes to snuff out the possibility that someone at some time would catch him out as a worthless and egotistical opportunista. This is done by silencing the media, by showing that there can be state control of the media. In Stalinist regimes which Perry is copying jokes against the 'Almighty' are banned and people punished.
Perry wants to show he 'means business' and has laid his calling card on the table. He shows you that he is going to outdo the Stalinists - even before he is Stalin, he is Stalin.
I think, when the PAPpies can 'let their hair down' and hip hop(?) it is very sad someone like a politician wannabe cannot but push an image of an uptight anal retentive humourless little jackboot. I hope the PAPpies would play along with Perry and give him his money's worth - help Perry to go heavy on the silly prankster so that he would be the first teenage school lad to get hanged for being a 'criminal' over a crap nick and get hanged.
We (including the PAPpies, the rest of the world and the planet Ego) can see Perry go hang his 'reputation' too. We can, knowing Perry as a 'scuba diving' trainer for a crap bank, give him a sea burial. Perry can supply all the lead to bring a political lightweight or no weight down to Davy Jone's, not Dow Jone's. And Perry has done all the work himself already.
I see very little point in discussing Perry - in certain circumstance it may be of grave necessity to apprehend someone out to damage a major reputation or use another's identity. Perry's case is hardly 'it'. If the saga is worth anything it is that it has given us an aforetaste of what fascists can do even before they storm the citadel and seize power with their 'workers' and 'masses'. Even before he's become a real MP, Perry's behaving like an imperial majesty worried about his 'name'.
I would wish Perry stick to subject he may know better - how to sink into the depth of a feeding trough. As a diver for a wank he should know about phishes and phishing - I think there are more phishes at his wank than there are in the South China Sea. I am not terribly confident about the online security at his wank and Perry may want to use his influential position to advise his wank and us on how to have good relations.
How about that then, Perry? Be real and make yourself useful.
Above all, make us all here recognise you and even get to love your 'name'.

I can count real WP members here with 2 fingers although there are probably more than a hundred WP members today. Unless you agree with samster005/Pince Lazar that anyone who supports WP even once is a WP member.
Mr Perry, I urge you to report this matter to the Police as there may be more than one impersonators out to ruin your good name. I have already reported this incident to Delphi on your behalf. Please lar, that impersonation was never about "freedom of information, thought or expression", it is mischief. Period. And if you are for "freedom of mischief" then you are obviously in the wrong channel.
Lighten up, fellas, it looks like Perry is not very IT savy - e.g. he doesn't know how to post pictures in his blog. He probably didn't realise that a nickname is different from a valid email id. But I have to agree that Perry over reacted in this issue, and going to the nearest police post does more harm to WP than good. I can hear the cops laughing at the station now.
